OTHER WORK
Illustration
Born from a mindset of utter devastation, Klaus worked on a series of illustrations made from coloured chalk in the late 1980s..
In this series, Klaus thematized concerns like abandonment and isolation, and also practiced social critique on subjects like greed, vanity, and idolatry.

DESIGN
Steiff Panoramas - for several years, Klaus designed the plush toy company's famous mechatronically animated panoramas.
The original designs created an attraction of 20x3x3 meters, and were used at the annual International Toy Fair in Nuremberg.
Afterwards, the panorama could be taken apart into three-dimensional puzzle pieces, which would later become a traveling exhibit
and be on display in European department stores, delighting children and adults alike.
Klaus designed the actual scenes, painted the backdrops, and was involved in all sculptural and decorative parts of the process.
Teddybear Space Travels was unfortunately a not realized design
Theme Store Designs - throughout his career, Klaus was commissioned by a number of retailers to design specialty stores and fantasy worlds.
Below is but a small selection from this portfolio.
The Cupid Fountain above was a center display in a Teddybear specialty store.
Klaus also painted a ceiling mural above, turning Michelangelo's famous angels into Teddybears.
